In 2013, I began taking improv comedy classes at the Philadelphia Improv Theater. I trained with Greg Maughan and Ralph Andracchio.
I continued that training at the Washington Improv Theater in 2014 and 2015, taking classes with Kate Symes, Mikael Johnson and Matt Winterhalter.
During my training, I co-founded an independent troupe called The Female Accent. The team consists of myself, Christine Burgess, Adam Fishbein, Thomas Harris, Alex Kazanas, David Lapkoff, James MacIndoe, and Ross Townsend. We’ve performed across the DMV area, including sets at The Comedy Spot, Source Theatre, DC Arts Center, Highwood Theatre, Zissimos, and The Mead Theatre. In 2015, we helped close out the Charm City Comedy Festival, and made our debut on the Washington Improv Theater’s main stage. If you’d like to see a Female Accent show online, I’d recommend our set at WIT’s Harold Night from June 9, 2015.
In the Spring of 2015, I was cast on Madeline, a Harold team at the Washington Improv Theater. We are coached by John Windmueller. My teammates include Dennis Johnson, Isabel Galbraith, Joe Randazzo, Liz Sanders, Patrick Slevin, Macey Schiff, Marianne Lalonde and Ryan Krull. If you’d like to see a Madeline show online, I’d recommend our set at WIT’s Harold Night from June 30, 2015.
